| Founded over fifty years ago by Mickey
and Sam Cofone in Pawcatuck, Connecticut as
a fruit and vegetable store, Sandy's was the
place to go for fresh produce, fruit baskets
and old- fashion customer service. The
store moved to Westerly, Rhode Island and
continued to grow. In 1974 the Cofone
brothers sold Sandy's to Bob and Ellie
Hoffman.
Over the next 32 years the Hoffmans added
a specialty grocery department and
delicatessen to the already very busy
produce store. A fruit basket business
and wholesale produce department followed.
In 2007 long time Sandy's managers Jim
and EmmaLee Goddiess bought Sandy's from Bob
and Ellie, and with their passion for fine
food and dedicated staff Sandy's continues
to offer new and exciting food experiences. |
